I usually babysit him twice a week, on Mondays & Fridays, and he is in daycare the other three days while mommy & daddy work. This week I have to babysit my other adorable grandson, Wes, who is now 14 months old, on Friday, so am watching Gavin today & tomorrow.

Gavin's big brother, Jaxon, who is 7, is down the shore this week with his dad, so it is very quiet here while Gavin is napping.
Aren't these photos awesome? They were taken by my son, Joe, who is an amazing photographer!
I've been busy studying and reading all I can about machine embroidery. I've had my Singer Futura Quartet for almost two years now, have a collection of embroidery thread and stabilizers, cans of spray basting, and just purchased a few digital font files, and some Halloween files. Now to get busy actually doing it. For some reason I am very intimidated by this. I plunged right into quilt making a few years ago, and do all my own free motion quilting. I think I'm quite fearless where quilting is concerned. Don't know why I have this mental block with machine embroidery. I think Wednesday, when I'm not babysitting, will be the day to finally just do it!
I completed the "Under the Boardwalk" table topper quilt that I made for my daughter, Lauren. Unfortunately, all the pics are still on my camera, and since I'm not home, and haven't downloaded the pics to my laptop yet, I won't be able to show you all until maybe tonight or tomorrow. I'm so happy it's completed though!
I'm also in the process of finishing up two counted cross stitched Christmas stockings my mom made for Wes. One commemorates his first Christmas, which was this past one, 2012, and one is a general Christmas stocking, which I'm going to add a cuff to and EMBROIDER his name on it! Once I know what I'm doing, that is. At almost 80 years old, my mom is still an exceptional counted cross stitcher, & she is now in the process of making stockings for Gavin! Her backs look almost as good as the fronts. She doesn't sew though, so I'm adding the linings, backings & cuff. I took lots of pics of those, so as soon as they're uploaded, I'll show you.
Who is excited for fall? I am!!! It's my absolutely most favorite time of the year! I love everything about it, the colors, the cooler weather, the fragrances of cinnamon, apple & pumpkin pie!
My husband made me promise not to put one pumpkin up until at least September 1st, but I told him I can not make that promise! I think I'm going to go down in my basement on Wednesday, and start getting my fall/Halloween decorations out. I've already been burning some yummy fall scented Yankee candles. I think I have a new favorite, Apple Pumpkin.
One week from Wednesday I'll be going to my fav place to shop & camp, with the girlfriends, Lancaster, PA! We always have an awesome time, shopping, camping, playing cards, talking by the campfire. It's a great time for us to get together and reconnect, since we are all so busy in our everyday lives.
